Therapeutic Horseback Riding

"I'll never forget when I first inquired about riding  --  I was afraid I would not qualify.   Instead, I was welcomed into the program with lots of love and TLC.   When I first started the program, my  left leg and arm was so weak  I had to have a therapist hold me in place.  It wasn't long until I was riding solo and  learning to ride English style.   I found that in addition to strengthening my leg,  my balance and coordination improved dramatically .  The confidence and self esteem it helped me regain was worth it all.   Thank you for helping me in my recovery journey!"   - Valerie Greene

Freedom Ride is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives and experiences of individuals with disabilities in the Central Florida area through therapeutic horse riding and related activities.

Freedom Ride is built on the conviction that we are not bound by our physical limitations. Therapeutic riding empowers people with disabilities to challenge themselves physically, mentally and emotionally. The benefits they reap – from improved strength and flexibility to confidence and self-esteem – are remarkable.

Freedom Ride is located at Trotters Park, (former Ben White Raceway) on Lee Road in Orlando. We hope you will have the opportunity to come and visit with us soon
